ACT Test Dates | Transformative Tutoring

For the past few months, my daughter has been working with Kennon on ACT math prep and she has already seen an improvement in her score. He does a great job with explaining all types of math problems and knows how to motivate his students to achieve their goals. The ACT is offered seven times per year and unlike the SAT it offers a mid-summer test, which can be ideal for those who plan to study hard over the summer. Read all the registration details on the ACT website.

ACT Test Information Release (TIR)

On the December, April and June tests, students can pay an additional fee to see the full test and their answers online a month or so after the test. This is called the “Test Information Release” (TIR) and the full details are explained here. If you are looking to take a test “just for practice,” it is highly recommended that you take the test on one of the TIR test dates and pay the extra fee ($30 or so) to view the results. My understanding is that the TIR information does NOT become available immediately and in fact they only release it after the next test date, so plan ahead.

Start Practicing!

Make sure to use the free official practice tests that we have available for you at least six weeks in advance. ACT has added two places to do online practice (here and here).

The test is very similar from year to year, so practice really does pay off. Unlike the SAT, the ACT does not provide any formulas and you must memorize all the formulas for the test. Here is our free ACT math formulas packet to help you review and memorize all the necessary formulas. We hope it helps kick-start your studying. Of course, doing well on the test isn’t simply about memorizing formulas, it is about being a great mathematician, so schedule some tutoring sessions and see how we can help you work towards your goal.
