50 Feet Away – Obviously, the coolest thing to do is walk several doors down to Crystal Cream Ice Cream Rolls! You deserve it. I deserve it. Let’s all go eat some freshly made ice cream! This is a great way to end a tutoring session that will cause students of all ages to look forward to learning.

0.2 Miles Away – Historic Spanish Point – There is a small admission price, but you can wander their tropical grounds until you reach the bay.

0.3 Miles Away – Osprey Fishing Pier – Free views of the bay are just a short walk away! Bring your fishing pole if you love to fish, or wear your swimsuit and take a brief stroll through the water.

0.5 Miles Away – Bay Street Park – This small, shady park offers activities for young children, including a playground set.

1.8 Miles Away – Legacy Trail Bike Path – 10.7 miles of paved bike trail that travels through Oscar Scherer State Park and over Donna & Roberts Bay. There is a trailhead on Bay St with limited parking and restrooms. (This area is presently under construction but remains open.) The trail, which replaced an old railroad track, has plenty of rest stops, opportunities for water and restrooms, as well as overpasses completed or in progress for all major roads. In Venice, it connects to a 4-mile trail along the Intracoastal Waterway.

2.2 Miles Away –  Blackburn Point Park – Launch a sculling boat, meander the boardwalk, or wet your fishing line. It’s all possible at this well-maintained county park.

2.4 Miles Away –  Oscar Scherer State Park – Bring your kayak and hop in for a real adventure. You can fish here, as well as watch birds or take a leisurely walk.

Shopping – Sprouts, Fifi’s, Elizabeth’s Consignments, CostCo, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Lowes, and the Westfield Sarasota Square Mall are all nearby.
